Fitness testing is a great way to let you know and understand where your strengths are as well as your limitations and weaknesses in your body. A variety of tests are performed to assess your body composition, lung capacity, joint mobility, and muscular strength and endurance.
To perform the Fitness Assessment according to the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology, the following pieces of equipment are used:
Blood Pressure Cuff
Stethoscope
Heart Rate Monitor
Body Composition Component: Digital Scale, height rod, Harpenden Skinfold Calipers, and a tape measure.
Aerobic Fitness: M-CAFT step, or treadmill.
Musculoskeletal: Hand Dynamometer, Flexometer, your body weight.
Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Treadmill or Step test – This test determines how efficiently the heart, lungs, and circulatory system carry oxygen throughout the body and to working muscles.
Healthy Musculoskeletal Fitness
Grip strength, Push-ups, Sit & Reach, Core Endurance, Vertical Jump, Peak Leg Power, and Balance.
